MCC need transparency in implementing tax payer money

MIRI, 15 August — We find that the planning of projects made by the Miri City Council (MCC) in the city of Miri is very wasteful of public funds.

The latest example is now a lot of trees planted along the road from the ‘Taman Selera’ at Tanjong lobang into the City Center in the cut-off would have been costly. Although the purpose of cutting is to build a path for cyclists and the public but the way MCC management is not very effective and a waste of taxpayers’ money.

They should plan carefully before any project is undertaken and must be in the long term not only for a while and simply like what happened today. Each time a new road construction or widening of the street would have a lot of trees and ornamental plants beside the road will be destroyed and certainly takes a high cost.

We ask that the MCC to plan more carefully before any projects are implemented so as not to lose money. Among other project should be priorities is  a proper public toilets built in the area of the garden or food outlets for the convenience of the public rather than build a project that wastes public money.

Strong Wind Damage Night Market Stall

The latest news event damage occurs where the night market in business Commercial central Seberkas Miri  due to strong wind on the last Sunday where 13 canopy of the night market traders were damaged, what MCC do to help and solve the problem of small businesses that suffered their business. This is all due to no proper planning and can cause damage and harm to the public. Things like this we should all avoid if we want to plan a project. Safety is priority.

We ask for the MCC for more transparent in implementing a project that uses taxpayers’ money. It is hoped that the MCC take this very seriously in order for the benefit and safety of the people.

Do not use taxpayers’ money with impunity only to meet the interests of certain parties. We want to see Miri as a well-planned and beautiful city in Malaysia.
